I trained in medicine before specialising in skin, and that order matters to me. Most of the patients I see have already tried something that didn't work — a course of laser at the wrong setting, a peel their skin wasn't ready for, or a product routine copied from someone with completely different skin.
So we start with assessment, not with a treatment menu. Sometimes the honest answer is that your skin needs a prescription and three months of patience rather than a procedure. I would rather tell you that on day one.

Yes. Every treatment begins with a consultation and skin analysis so the plan matches your skin type, medical history and goals. It also lets us rule out contraindications — pregnancy, certain medications, active infections and recent isotretinoin use all change what's safe.
It produces long-lasting reduction rather than permanent removal. Most patients need six to eight sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, then occasional maintenance. Anyone promising permanent removal in three sessions is overselling it.
It depends on the concern. A HydraFacial shows results after one session. Acne scarring, melasma and hair restoration usually need a course of four to eight. You'll get a specific number in writing after your assessment.
Yes, when the device, wavelength and settings are matched to your Fitzpatrick type. Melanin-rich skin carries a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, so we patch test where appropriate and treat conservatively rather than aggressively.
Most feel like warmth, snapping or mild pressure. Microneedling and some peels involve more discomfort, so we apply topical numbing beforehand. We'll describe the sensation honestly at consultation — "painless" isn't a word we use.
HydraFacial and carbon facials have none. Peels may flake for two to four days. Microneedling leaves redness for one to two days. Injectables can bruise. If you have an event coming up, tell us the date and we'll schedule around it.
Some treatments are safe, many are not. Injectables, most lasers and several peel agents are avoided in pregnancy. Tell us at consultation and we'll work out what's appropriate, which is sometimes just a medical-grade routine until later.
